Volunteer Application – January 2015
Cafeteria Volunteer: Every night, a team of volunteers is assigned to a specific cafeteria. With your fellow volunteers (a party that includes a driver), you collect unconsumed food from the staff at your assigned cafeteria and deliver it to a local shelter. At the shelter, you collect the washed pans and bring them back to the cafeteria. Runs generally take no more than 30 minutes, and help shelters significantly reduce their expenses — sometimes by up to 60%.
Volunteer Driver: Drivers make cafeteria runs possible! They are responsible for transporting volunteers and unconsumed food from their assigned cafeteria to a local shelter. Drivers must own or have access to their own vehicles.
Come check out Soul Food this week at Queen’s in the Park (Wednesday, Sep 3) and the Sidewalk Sale (Friday, Sep 5)!

Queen’s Soul Food is a not-for-profit student-run organization that strives to alleviate issues of poverty and food insecurity. Our main activities include transporting unserved dining hall food to shelters, organizing the volunteer roster for Martha’s Table, and hosting awareness events on campus.
As we are currently in the process of becoming a registered charity, we have ambitious goals for the 2014-2015 year. We are looking for enthusiastic, committed individuals who want to help Soul Food grow so that we can help tackle poverty and make an even bigger impact in the Kingston Community.
